Maan Farms is the Fraser Valley at full volume. What began as a berry farm has grown into a seasonal destination that draws people from across the Lower Mainland each autumn, and it has the scale to match: a corn maze that takes a genuine hour to solve, a sprawling pumpkin patch, play structures, farm animals, a market, a winery tasting room and food that goes well beyond the usual mini doughnuts.
The daytime fall festival is the family version. Children can spend hours between the maze, the jumping pillow, the goats and the pumpkin field, while adults appreciate the farm’s own wine, the valley views and, on a clear day, Mount Baker filling the southern horizon. The pumpkins themselves grow in neat rows with the farm’s buildings and the Sumas Prairie behind, and the light in the late afternoon is beautiful.
After dark the farm changes character. Its haunted corn maze and related attractions are designed to genuinely scare, are separately ticketed and carry age recommendations; this is an evening for teenagers and adults, not toddlers. Read the farm’s descriptions carefully before you book.
The caveats are distance and crowds. Abbotsford is an hour from Vancouver without traffic and considerably more on a Saturday afternoon in October, parking is in fields that get muddy, and popular weekends sell out. Buy tickets online, go early, and check the farm’s site for the current season’s dates and prices.
